How long does it take to travel from one park to another in Disney World, Orlando?
Exactly what it says :) How long by monorail? Boat (I read there were boats)? Bus? :D Any other things I ought to know? We're traveling to Orlando this May, so hopefully there won't be that many people :) If you have any extra tips too, that would be great! Thank you!

Answer 1 :
It has been awhile since my last visit but here is what I remember: There are shuttles all over. THe whole thing is quite spread out so even if you do get on a shuttle right away, you will be surprised at how long the ride takes. Sometimes you have to make stops along the way at other parks or hotels too. Depends on the crowds too
Answer 2 :
The bus ride between parks is faster than the bus ride to the hotels. There are boats from certain hotels to certain parks or downtown disney. The buses between parks are clearly labled. The monorail does NOT go to all the parks just between Epcot and Magic Kingdom and several hotels. As always - the WDW website has thought of about everything and here is their site for transportation: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/planning-guides/in-depth-advice/resort-transportation/
Answer 3 :
well if u went by car probably 20 minutes if you went by bus you would have to go the transportation and ticket center about 30 minutes (with no crowd) boat from epcot to hollywood studios it can take up to 10 minutes if you take the right boat Monorail from magic kingdom to epcot you have to go to the transportation and ticket center and can take 40 minutes it pretty much all depends on if there are crowds and stuff
Answer 4 :
There are not buses from one park to another. You must go from a park to the Ticket and Transportation Center (or any WDW resort) and hop on another bus to go to a different park. At the TTC you will find buses to all parks, monorail to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT and a Ferry to the Magic Kingdom. Plan on at least 30 minutes to wait for a bus at a park, ride to the TTC, wait for the next transportation, and ride to the next park.
Answer 5 :
It varies by what mode of transportation you choose and how lucky you are. The transportation between options are as follows: Monorail connections between Magic Kingdom (to be shortened to MK for the rest of this answer) and Epcot, Boat connections available between MK and the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC for short...and I'll explain what the TTC is further down) as well between the Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Finally there are bus connections between all 4 theme parks except between Epcot and MK. Now here's the thing, anyone going to the Magic Kingdom has to go through the TTC, so when you board the monorail at Epcot (or a bus elsewhere) you actually end up at the TTC and not MK, and you must take a connecting monorail or ferry boat. Now for the times: In rank order of speed monorails are fastest, followed by buses, and boats are byfar the slowest. Time between TTC and Magic Kingdom is about 5-8 minutes barring any traffic holding and wait time is no more than 10 minutes. Time between Epcot and TTC is closer to about 10-12 mins with a 15 min wait time at worse. (What I mean by wait time is that...thats the longest you would probably have to wait prior to getting on the transportation item...it doesn't mean it will be THAT long...you could get lucky and be at the right place at the right time...but thats normally the upper limit you'd have to stand and wait around). So total travel time between Epcot and MK should be around 20-30mins sum total. As for the buses...they're all about 30-40 mins flat including wait time, but that wait time is excruciating since it goes by ever so slowly. Likewise, if you see someone in a wheelchair getting on (I'm sorry to sound like a bad person but this is true) then add another 10 mins for loading and securing the wheelchair. They run about 2 buses per route and...they don't rush lol. Finally for boats, the boat between MK and TTC should be about 20 mins, and the boat between the Hollywood Studios and Epcot is going to be closer to 40 mins. Note that this boat between the Hollywood Studios and Epcot stops at 3 resorts along its route so that's why its incredibly slow...but at the same time it also affords you and your family a break and a chance to sit down in some air condition comfort. Also some might wonder...where is this said boat between Epcot and the Hollywood Studios, or why would I take it besides the fact that it gives me a chance to take a break: and here's why it's located at the back of Epcot. That means should you randomly decide to leave Epcot and say "We should go to the Hollywood Studios, right now!" and you're in the world showcase...that saves you a long walk to the front of Epcot where the buses are. If you walk slow or have kids or simply don't want to take that walk...this is an option available. Biggest tip I can give however...limit the number of times you switch between parks, in all of my years of going to Disney, that is the most helpful thing you can do to maximize your time on the rides (or at least spending them in the parks) and not burning it elsewhere. Once you are in a park, stay there until you are done. Unless you have a fastpass that you can't use until 8pm and its 10am right now as you look at said fastpass...then you want to move to another park and come back later. This tip only applies when I'm not at Disney...if I'm at Disney...please keep switching between parks, it'll make the ride lines shorter for me :-p Have a fantastically magical trip!!
Answer 6 :
Use your transportation time as a rest period. It is nice to sit in an air conditioned bus for a while. The boats are a slow and comfy ride also. The monorails are a quick way to travel between Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, with a few stops at a few resorts. Plan on 1 and 1/2 hours to leave a park, board your transportation and walk into the next park. The whole experience of traveling Disney World can be enjoyable. Riding the boats and monorails offer lots of views of the Disney grounds. The buses also offer some views of the world.
Answer 7 :
Walking out the gate, to your choice of transportation, getting to the next park, walking to the next gate and actually getting in the park can take you at least 30 minutes, sometimes upwards of an hour.
Answer 8 :
If you would like to see how close all theme parks are, you can take an aerial tour and get a bird's eye view. It's amazing and gives you a different perspective.
Answer 9 :
I would count on one hour from ride to ride. By that, I mean, that when you leave a ride at any one park, it will be about an hour until the next ride. You have to get to the transportation, wait for it to come, take the transportation to the next park, re enter the park, walk to the ride and wait in line. Are you staying on property? You can get in one park early that day. Go there one hour before the park opens. The first 60 minutes or so of rides are "walk on" by lunch time, head for another park as this one fills up. Other tips - ride during the parades as the lines are shorter. Start in the back of the park, and MOST important, plan you day BEFORE you get to the park. Hope you have a super time!
Answer 10 :
-Boats: TTC to Magic Kingdom (about 15 minutes) Around EPCOT (about 20 minutes) -Monorail Around Seven Seas Lagoon (about 20 minutes) Express Monorail (about 10 minutes) TTC to EPCOT (about 25 minutes) -Buses: Depends on origin and destination Make dining reservations in advance Check the weather on weather.com The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival is from late March to late May. If you're flying, get your boarding passes online the day before. Have a great trip!

As an additional note, you did not mention if you will have a car. If you will have a car and are staying at a Disney resort, parking at each theme park is free. If you are staying off site and will have a car, the parking pass you pay for each morning is actually good at all of the parks for that day. You only pay once per day. So, if I parked at the TTC so that I could go to the Magic Kingdom, but planned to go to Epcot in the afternoon, I would take the Monorail. If, however, I planned to leave the Magic Kingdom to go to Hollywood Studios I would take my car. So, if you are staying off-site and bringing in a car each day, you should take that car with you as you hop unless you are hopping between Epcot and the Magic Kingdom. If you have your car in the parking lot don't even consider getting on a bus. Just don't do it. Note that using your car also gives you the opportunity to grab a drink and a snack from the cooler in your trunk that does not cost the family $50. You generally want to limit the hopping that you do as you do end up losing up to an hour of park time. We do, however, get the hopper option. Here is what we tend to do. Day 1. Magic Kingdom all day. Take the ferry from the TTC to the MK instead of the monorail. The trip is longer but the wait is shorter. Since you are getting there before it opens anyway, a 5 min difference one way or the other does not matter. Plus, we always like to huddle together on a chilly morning as the MK comes slowly into view. Day 2. Epcot all day. Day 3. Hollywood Studios all day. Day 4. Animal Kingdom, then hop to HS using the car. Day 5. Magic Kingdom then hop to Epcot on the monorail. Day 6. Epcot, then HS, then MK all using the car. Close out the trip with the fireworks at MK, and try not to cry as you leave that night. The actual order varies since it depends on the fireworks schedule and the opening and closing times of each park. This plan allows us to pretty much do everything, and do the cool stuff a few times. We did do all 4 parks on the last day one trip when it was not busy. We hopped to each park and did our favorite couple attractions.
